“I wish I had met Shannon 20 years ago. OCW understands what needs to be done to make room to do so much more.”

— Seitu K Jones, Founder, Seitu Jones Studio and The Black Gate

In the fall of 2018, OCW began a long-term partnership with the beloved and prolific Twin Cities artist Seitu Ken Jones. Since we first connected at Frogtown Farm, an urban farm he co-founding with his wife and neighbors, over freshly baked pizza, it’s been a whirlwind of activity. Together we have spearheaded new management systems, refreshed the website for Seitu Jones Studio, and set the stage for Jones’s career-defining legacy project. It has been an immeasurable honor to work with Seitu, helping him build on the foundation of his 40-plus year practice and inspire new generations of artists committed to social change. Some large-scale projects OCW has had the pleasure of leading include: Community Meals across the country, public art work in places like the Nashville Farmers Market, Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden, University of Minnesota - Pillsbury Hall and many more community engaged work across the Twin Cities.
