This workshop is in support of advancing your art practice is designed to offer a comprehensive introduction to research and strategic planning techniques for artists. We will address questions such as: What is the difference between an artist statement and artist bio? How do you write a compelling proposal? Through lecture, discussion, collaboration, and sharing, students will explore creative ways to advance and promote their art practice from residency opportunities to using social media for promotional purposes. Participants will leave the workshop with a solid understanding of their personal artistic goals alongside an action plan to meet those goals. Through writing activities, homework, research and planning each artist will have gathered materials for working towards a completed application proposal or plan for promoting their work.
By using elements from past experiences as well as partnering with high level creative director and project manager to support robust content—the years of work experiences from all our previous work from nonprofit, corporate and individual projects will elicit a rigorous but simplified toolkit for managing any creative project endeavor.
