Office of Cultural Work Founder and Management Consultant, Shannon Brunette, is a leader in nonprofit arts management and philanthropy, working at the intersection of art and social change with individual artists, nonprofits and creative entrepreneurs. Organizations with which Shannon has held leadership positions with have been Penumbra Theatre, Walker Art Center, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Blue Man Group and Lambent Foundation. Shannon’s consultancy projects have included, Lha Charitable Trust, New York Foundation for the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Northern Lights, The Soap Factory, Burnet Gallery and Lutman & Associates.
Shannon is Co-founder of The Drawing Project, a mission driven art project to encourage and engage diverse local/global perspectives on contemporary drawing through nomadic drawing workshops. While in NYC, she co-founded NYC Women’s Salon, a professional network and mentoring group for woman involved in progressive fields. For a two-year term, she served as the Board President of CVA Action, a nonprofit dedicated to the alumni of the College of Visual Arts. Shannon is a Continuing Education faculty member at Minneapolis College of Art and Design focusing on drawing and professional development courses. She is a 2017 recipient of the MRAC Next Step Fund award supported by the McKnight Foundation and a 2017 James P. Shannon Leadership Institute Fellow.
